Humans are Idiots

Author: Lance Winslow

Many humans will defend the human race and their ability to over come and adapt to nearly any crisis. These same folks will also point to the accomplishments of the humans in the past and the major technological and medical breakthroughs. Indeed some of these innovations are astounding. Yet when we look more closely at the reality we see problems where humans are unable to do little important tasks. For instance humans cannot even make ice cubes correctly. You say what? How hard is it to make ice cubes?

Well we know ice is easy to make right? It is simply frozen water. Yet lets say you go to the store to buy a bag of ice and all those ice cubes have hardened and are kept cold until you purchase them. Nifty and you can grab a bag or two for your igloo coolers for a fun day with the family.

Unfortunately the morons who designed the ice cube making system didnt figure out that their ice cubes harden together and become jagged, thus before you put them into the cooler you have to break them apart. But if you try to break them apart in your cooler then you will crush the contents or break the Styrofoam.

If you have a plastic cooler you can break the ice inside the cooler, but then you have to take the ice out to re-pack your contents. Where do you put the ice while doing this, especially if you plan on using the ice inside your drinks later? If you hit the bag of ice on a hard surface to break the ice while still in the bag, then the jagged ice breaks apart the bag and the ice goes everywhere. Dah.

So as far as ice engineering goes people suck. Now then you want me to get in a space capsule and go to Mars where the ice is and develop a colony? Considering that humans cannot even make a bag of ice correctly; well, I think not. Meanwhile if you are going to fly to Mars in an enclosed capsule and become an igloo when you get there, why would you entrust your life to ice engineers and rocket ships built by the lowest bidding humans? Think on this in 2006.
